fix q290700

    When trying to update media player I was informed that I needed fix q290700, so I found it and installed it. Media player is fine, but other things aren't.

    At times my computer hangs halfway through booting up. Other times the hourglass won't go away and the computer waits forever (until I press crtl-alt-del). Other times the machine boots successfully, but takes about 10 minutes to do so.

    I'm fully virus scanned so I know there is no problem there. I suspect the above fix has done something to my registry but I've no idea what, or what to do.

    Help, please, if you can

    Hey Paul,

    Is there an uninstall for the q290700 in your Control Panel.Add/Remove Programs?

    If so, give it a go. I know some of the "fixes" are removable but some aren't.
