For Xmas family gift, picked up a min-DVcam. Interface from cam to computer is FireWire/iLink, which my computer does not have. I ordered / installed a Belkin 3 port/6 wire Firewire PCI card. When cam came, it did not have a Firewire cable. The cam is a 4 wire connection, my computer port is a 6 wire.
So when ordering a cable, which of the following do I choose ...
6 PINS TO 4 PINS cable (OR) 4 PINS TO 6 PINS cable

    Thanks

    UPDATE
On further reading, it would appear the first pin set is stated as the "small end ".
IF this is true, my cable needs would be the 4 PINS TO 6 PINS, correct??

    Hi Dennis,

I am not sure that it is important. More important would seem to be 4 pin (male) to 6 pin (male).
Is the 4 - 6 cable here the sort of thing you are looking for:

If you can see that it is the type you want, use the supplier's code number.

Electronics stores (Radio Shack) should carry them, even department stores in their electronics/camera section.
