Firewall use with AVG Anti-Virus

For a single Home PC using a Modem or Cable and using free AVG ,updated daily, and MSFT Critical Updates as issued. for Win98SE can or should a Firewall be added?

I know of no reason running AVG free or otherwise that would preclude running a firewall.

The now classic firewall prevention example is the Blaster worm. Even if one did not have MS's DCOM/RPC patch in place, a competent firewall would have prevented infection.

I installed Keria Windows 98SE came up in safe mode twice, I used the Kerio "Repair" option; that failed.

I then removed it and Widows came up ok.
