I see on the Microsoft literature that one should only have ONE firewall active at a time. I have COMODO and (it seems) Windows firewall both engaged at once. Should I disable one over the other?

Been my experience in the past, that when you install a 3rd party FW, Windows will automatically turn theirs off. I have used ZA for quite a while for years. Then I got a router and use just the Windows one. The router has one built into it. One is a Hardware FW and the other is a Software FW. That is why those two will play well together. Some people will over load them selves with ****. Those are the people that don't need to own a computer.

Bill, I occasionally think I should follow the advice I got years ago from a help-desk worker: Find the original packing, put all back as I got it and take it back to the store, 'cos I'm too (censored) stupid to own a computer... But we DO muddle on.

I usually go straight from the cable modem to the computer, but have just recently re-installed an ancient wired router which works just fine, so (like you) I feel I am wearing a belt and suspenders.... Given your comments, I think COMODO will go away.

    Dankë

Yep, if you have a belt and suspenders, ain't no sense carrying a piece of bailing twine in you back pocket in case one of them breaks. :D
