    Gaston,

Right click the Bookmark, and select: Open link in new Tab

    OR

You can right click on any Toolbar and select: Customize

From the "Customize Toolbar" drag the "New Tab" icon to your Navigation Toolbar. You can open a new tab, and then open your Bookmark link for another site.

    Hi Gaston,

FF's tab settings don't always seem to work as you would expect. But, if you right-click on a link or a bookmark, the context menu will give you the option to open it in a new tab (or a new window). I've been doing it that way for so long that it's become second nature.

I would suggest, too, that you install the Tab Mix Plus extension, which will give you far more tab options than FF does as written.

I never paid attention to this (lack of) feature. I had, for the longest time, used the Open in new windows setting, and only recently changed to Open new pages in a Tab. This does not happen with a bookmark, but right click takes care of that.
I, personally, don't mind that, and my open in a new window was a reaction to Netscape8.x which opened new tabs, at the slightest provocation, without opening them.
