Since i installed win 10, i have to click the firefox shortcut several times
for firefox to show on-screen. Other programs don't have this problem.

After the initial start of firefox, there is no problem with restarting it (for that
    session).

    Anyone else see this condition?

No problem here - FF version 43.0.3 opens in W10 Pro 64bit in less than 2 seconds.
There has been a request from Mozilla for donations which flashes through 4 mini views when trying to close it out. Neil.

Strange, I'm on same version (43.0.3) as you and i don't see
any donation request when closing but still have opening delay.

    go figure?

My 2 comps and HP Notebook are all running FF version 43.0.3 and I use the 1 click short cut on the Taskbar.
Even a double-click on the Mozilla FF Menu entry in All Apps still opens FF within 2 seconds.
Are your Mouse settings all OK?
Start > Settings > Devices > Mouse & Touchpad > Additional mouse options. Neil.

Have you tried FF Help > Troubleshooting Information > Restart with Addons Disabled to see if that speeds up your start of FF? Neil.

think i figured out the problem, as usual the problem was sitting in front of
    the PC.

all i had to do is wait a few more seconds for the PC to finish booting!

    retiredlearner,

    Retired from what?

Next brain twister - when opening a new window from whatever page i'm looking
at, many (most) times the down arrow in the scroll bar does not show until i resize
the newly opened page just slightly.

I've see this before on different versions of FF

    Any thoughts on that?

Retired from full-time employment in the Motor Industry. Now in full-time Super-Annuitant Status. There is only one retirement option from here........
From Start to fully operational on this comp - W10 Pro 64bit - 30 seconds.
That is when the wheel stops spinning around the Pointer - then it's 2 seconds for FF to open when I click on the Icon in the Taskbar.
I don't have any problem with delay when opening pages and I don't have to re-size the page, so I can't say I have/or experienced your problem.
I, personally am very pleased with my W10 Upgrades and I seem to be able to make the changes to have the OS work the way I like.
Have a Happy New Year. :D Neil.
