FireFox Mozilla won't Open/Start

The last time i used my Fire Fox Mozilla 2.0.0.18 it crashed and today when i tryed to open it....it would not open /start but i got that error screen that said : would you like to go back to the page or start a new one if i click new it will clear that panel and not a thing will happen!.....i uninstalled Firefox Mozilla 2.0 and went to FireFox Mozilla and downloaded it again yes the old version because i like the plug in that allows me to download the videos off You Tube to the Real Player and save them....and i still can't get it to Open or Start...any ideas of how to fix FireFox Mozilla 2.0 version? it has to be something in the left over files like the old profile ?

If i upgrade to the newer FireFox Mozilla 3.0.....any ideas as to where i can get a plug in like i have for the Real Player on Firefox Mozilla 3.0

1. My Firefox2.x crashed once or twice since I got Firefox, and, usually, I select to go back to the page. Then, I went on from there. The crashes have been so rare, and, since I wanted to go back to the page, it was no problem. From what you say, it seems that Firefox is still in memory. But would have been in memory if the computer was restarted, instead of going from the uninstall/reinstall routine? Or more simply close the firefox.exe process, after doing Cntrl+Alt+Del? Anyway uninstalling?reinstalling does not change anything. The plugin folder remains, and the same old profile is picked up.
2. I don't have the plugin, so I don't have an answer. The plugin should remain in the plugins folder of v.2.0.0.18. I keep 2.0.0.18 and 3.0.4 separate (installed in individual folders), and use different profiles.
