I havbe been happily running Firefox for over a year now with noporblems at all. This morning I got a message to the effect " Firefox is already running, close programme and try again" The programme does not appear in task manager.
I restarted the PC and then tried to reopen the programme but the problem was still there. In desperation, I uninstalled Firefox and downloaded and installed latest version and the problem persists. Any idea how I can get the programme operational again?

    TIA

If you Google: "Firefox is already running" you see many hits that go to Mozilla's support site...

And, note what Ramona's link deals with. Uninstalling/reinstalling, a very common attempt to right things will do no good. 99% of the problem are with the profile, which is separate from the program, and, not affected by uninstall/reinstall.
