Firefox trouble: a notice that Firefox was updating and since then I cannot access sites unless I re-register passwords. "entry point not found firefox.exe entry point js_save RegExpStatics could not be located in the dynamic link library js3250.del "

I have designated firefox as default. There was a notice that the update has occurred but that hasn't changed the problem.

Which version does Firefox tell you that you have? Look at Help|About Firefox.
As for your issue, I would not know what it means. You, obviously must have allowed Firefox to do updates without your intervention. Make sure that Tools|Options|Advanced|Update is set to "Ask me what to do ", or just deselect Firefox in the check for updates list. This way you can go to Help|Check for updates, and select to download the update. I have never had a problem, this way. With 3.6.4, I was offered an update of 2.6 MB, and everything went smoothly.

Try to repair Firefox. In any event, I would not allow Firefox to update without my intervention, at: Tools|Options|Advanced|Updates. Change to "ask me what to ", or plain deselect Firefox to be checked for updates. You can do that, manually, at Help|Check for Updates.
I do that at my convenience.
Sorry, I did not see that the previous post had occurred.

I played around a bit and found that Firefox 3 was available, and I updated that - seems I had some much earlier version. With the new update there is a "cleanup" which gets rid of old updates and clears errors in Firefox. I don't know yet if all the passwords need updating and I'll take your advice and make them ask for permission to update. Thanks.
