Is anyone aware of a plugin to allow Firefox .93 to allow scans at Trend Micro HouseCall scans. When I load the page, it re-directs the page to a download for a Netscape 4 plugin. I tried to direct the plugin to FireFox "plugin folder" but HouseCalls install program will not install it (program stalls). As most of us have become accustomed to, this is when we use IE. But I'm having a problem getting past XP/SP2 IE6 higher level of security... see wBBS thread
    Thanks

    Dennis,

It's trying to download an ActiveX plugin, and you won't be able to use Firefox to do a Trend Micro Scan. Why you can't do it with IE, I'm not sure, unless you have ActiveX disabled in all Security Zones. Check your settings in each Zone. You haven't by chance used "Enough is Enough" to shut down IE have you? That disables all ActiveX also.

    Hi Ramona

Hmmm, me bad. Yes I have that. Trying to remember my progression on my XP. Had Netscape 6.23, which had plugin traffic from N4's. Then moved to N7's, then Moz 1.x's.... then a HD reformat. Cleaned install, new profile setup in Moz 1.6 to 1.7. Copied over mail / Addresses / filters / Bookmarks ... copied over any plugins?? Then month ago I clean Installed / new profile for FF .93, deleted out all of Moz 1.7.. and I know I did NOT copy over any plugins. I want to say I was running HouseCall scans with Mozilla 1x's via inherited plugins from N6.xx/N4.
So for now, guess there is no "safe" way to have a HouseCall scan. No plugin for FF, fake N4 install does not look friendly ... Mozilla ActiveX plugin is discouraged / not recommended. Do not want to uninstall "Enough is Enough ".
    Oh well, life goes on.
    Thanks Ramona

    Hi Dennis,

Maybe if everyone on the NS/Moz Forum sent Trend Micro an email and complained that users of Gecko browsers would LOVE to use HouseCall it might help? (If only!)

    Ramona :D
