Firefox 3 bookmarks

Where does FF3 store bookmarks. For backup purposes. TIA.

 

Same place as in previous versions, in the profile. However, there is no need to look for the file. Just use Bookmarks|Organize Bookmarks|Import and Backup|Backup.
The .json format file of the day will be saved, wherever you want it. You can also export it in the HTML format.

 

Being a first time user of this it is somewhat confusing. On the right hand side I have the choice of 'Bookmark Menu', 'Bookmark Toolbar', and 'Unsorted Bookmarks'. Do I have to save each individually or is there a way to save all bookmarks at one time?

 

Everything is saved in a single click. I don't know what you have under each category, but, in my case, where I have hundreds of bookmarks, if I click on the plus to the left of each category, the contents will show.

I noticed that when I save I can choose the location to save to. When I format and reinstall, will I need to put the saved file in the same location on the hard drive I saved it to before I restore them?

 

When we start talking about backups. I feel I'm short changing folks if I don't
make sure the're aware of the program "Second Copy "

The beauty of 2nd copy so far as I am concerned is it does just that, no Zipping or Archiving just a plain old copy and you can go find any backed up file or folder you want and replace it using Windows Explorer.

I have 2nd copy backing up my entire profile every 4 hours so I never have a worry or concern for any of my mail, bookmarks, etc. etc.

Second Copy runs in the background and you never know it is there.

You can copy anything you select be it 1 file or 1 folder or 1 H/D and send the backup copies to any place or device of the computer providing it will hold the number of byte count selected for Backup.

No. As long as you find the backup on the old drive. Same goes for the entire profile backups, mentioned in other replies.
