I'm not advertising, but the truth is Firefox (3.5.2) for Windows runs FAST! I'm a Microsoft fan, currently running XP Pro SP3. I cant believe that Microsoft let a upstart company (mostly staffed by volunteers and funded by donations) beat them out. I tried the best Microsoft browser (IE8) and it isn't even close. How can a billionaire corporation like Microsoft let this happen? Perhaps if Mozilla starts building their own OS, then they will get the lead out of their pants and step up to the plate.

It's now almost 2 wks later. Have any of these issues been resolved by Mozilla?

    I think you misunderstood.

According to Mozilla, version 3.5.2 of Firefox FIXED those issues. :)

I post this to hopefully help someone...

After trying 3.5.2 I reverted back to a previous ver because some of my add-ons were not compatible w/ it, and there were no updates to be found.

    Now back to 3.0.13

Add-ons, which are not part of the program, may not be usable in a major new version. I am using 3.0.13 as default, but I have also 3.5.2. Add-ons were, slowly, updated. Of course it is, always a shock to see that some add-ons are no longer usable, but that is not a good reason to give up on on a new version. As far as I know v.3.0.x will not be supported by Mozilla, and so not updated.
It is very much like Netscape7.x which has not updated in years (and will not be updated), and still used by a number of people.

You raise a good pt Westside.
In this case I haven't had issues w/ FF and went w/ 3.5.2 because I read (here) that it was faster. I didn't see any difference and w/ the add-ons not working I saw no reason to continue w/ it.
I have Comodo Firewall and it seems nothing can get through that thing, so security wasn't as issue.
If in the future I find they've updated the add-ons then I'll go back to 3.5.2.
Personally I've never seen much difference w/ the various versions of FF.

Which add-ons are of interest? I use few add-ons, so there is no problem.
As for the different versions, the major difference are greater security. As for speed, and stuff like that some people can tell a difference. I can't.

I checked for updates to my add-ons and there were non.
At this point I don't see any functional difference between the two versions so I'll just stick w/ 3.0.13.

Mozilla Firefox won't boot up into the internet

Google Chrome and IE8 boot up no problem, but Mozilla Firefox just runs in the background and I can tell this because when I shut down the computer it tells me that Firefox won't close down

Went in Task Manager, applications tab and the only one running is Google Chrome and when I go into the processes tab firefox.exe is active, under CPU a #99 is evident and for all others they are #00

Would it be because of Kaspersky antivirus blocking it? HELP?

You probably won't get your answer here.
Better to start a new thread. That way someone will address your specific issue.

End process of firefox.exe. And, try again. It has happened to me a few times, for no clear reason.

Yep, I'd ignore the security updates too

Chas, I'd prefer a more secure browser than some dodgy addons ;)

Disable FF auto updates and FF will behave better, i.e. the firefox.exe process will get killed when the browser is closed. Options > Advanced Tab > Updates Tab > uncheck Firefox, Add-ons, Search Engines.

Tried that. We'll see what happens from here.

Hey Paddy, Did you call my browser (or is that bowser) dodgy?
Oh, now I see. You think my add-ons are dodgy. Why you!

Is Firefox maximized? How does the corner of the screen look like? Just a small square, or what?

Hi there, it is indeed maximized. Would there be a conflict between Internet Explorer or Google Chrome with FireFox or Kaspersky antivirus?
