    Labarum,

I have downloaded FF 1.5 Beta 1, but haven't installed it yet. Here is a page with quite a bit of information, including the Release Notes:
Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 (Deer Park)

I've been curious myself. Mind you... I'm chicken to try it but I'll be watching from the sidelines as Ramona takes the plunge.

It won't kill you. I have always kept two profiles. One for the major stable installed version (1.0.7), and the the other for whatever else I like to look at.
The 1.5b1 is described as 1.4, and I am using the unzipped version, which is based on the 1.8b5 milestone. As expected, some extentions don't work, and I am using only Forecastfox (which has not worked on my 1.0.7) and the Firesomething extention. The most striking difference is the design of the Options, which the items on top, rather than on the side.
Also, Help|Check for Updates, will allow you to do updates of the existing version (although I have yet to find what is updated).I have been using the nightlies, and they have been as stable as a rock.
By the way, I am using 1.5b1, right now.
