Firefox 0.9 RC now available

Looks like a new version of Mozilla Firefox is due out. Mozilla have posted a release candidate on their site. (http://www.mozilla.org/)

Personally I prefer Firefox/Firebird to the full Mozilla. I think the lack of e-mail gubbins means more concentration on the matter at hand - browsing.

 

And very nice it is too.

advises the latest nightly (11 June) is more stable.

That's what I am using.

 

I have just moved from Mozilla 1.7 to the latest Firefox Nightly.

It runs very smoothly, but the edit menu is missing the "Fill in form" item. Is this not yet implemented?

That feature is not yet fully implemented. Firefox remembers what you've filled in, in "Search ", to make searching for things again much easier. I don't believe there is an extension for Form Fill yet either.

Well, yes, it does seem incomplete. IN Options | Privacy there is an option to turn form filler on and to clear, but as I said, unlike Mozilla 1.7 there is no option in the Edit Menu to fill in a form.

On the other hand I have got "Send Link" in the context menu, and I have got an icon to toggle the Bookmarks Sidebar.

On the whole Fire fox is a joy to use - can't wait for Version 1
