Fire Wire Networking

I am trying to connect two computers using IEEE 1394(Fire Wire). Both computers are laptops and both are running XP. Both computers are set up to share files but they cannot see each other. I know I must be doing something wrong but can not figure out what, any suggestions?

 

If you are using a direct cable you would use windows "Direct cable connection" which I have done with serial and parallel but not USB or Firewire.

So try a "Direct cable connection ".

Or a better choice is a product specialized to do it.

The above is for USB you would need 2 of them or if you can find the equivelent product for firewire.
