I have a keyboard, mouse and monitor attached via a KVM switch to a PC at the other side of the office.

The keyboard behaves as if filter keys is on. However when I go into control Panel|Accessibility Options | and look under keyboard there is no tick under the 'Filter Keys' option.

I have ticked it and unticked it (i.e. turned it on and off), have rebooted computer before and after doing this. I have swapped keyboard out, held the right shift key down for > 8 sec, but can't get the keyboard to behave properly.

    Anybody have any ideas??

closest I could find to a thread was http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=23647&highlight=filter+keys
but that did not give a solution.

    Hope you can help

Try turning it on. Rebooting. Turning it off then rebooting again.

I have also tried turning it on. Rebooting. Turning it off then rebooting again. But thanks for the suggestion.

I wonder is there another way to turn on/off the ability to ignore repeated or held down key strokes?
Tried about all the options I can think of under the sticky keys / filter keys options. Something related to hot keys possibly??

In some BIOS there's a setting re: key repeat rate that may help.
