When I try to attach files to email using Firefox as my browser, I get the message, "The filepicker was unexpectedly closed by Windows ". I can attach messages using IE7, so there must be some setting I can change to allow me to attach files in Firefox. Can you help me find the answer?

I forgot to mention that Firefox crashes when I attempt to use the attaching function, so I have to utilize Task Manager to end the task and Firefox closes.

I was, completely, baffled because filepicker did not ring and bells. And, Firefox as well as IE are not e-mail programs. But, I decided to do a Search which told me that this is not a situation that would be encountered by a Firefox user, unless something else was present. In first place, check this thread at Syschat .
For the uninitiated there is a a description of a program called FilePicker , whose use is unclear to me, but, it surely never heard of it.

    regarding filepicker

Thanks for your response, Westside. After I made the post, I continued to look for other solutions and found one at Baldys Paradox, another website for community solutions. It turns out that Windows had put my desktop file under MyDocuments/My Pictures instead of where it belongs in C:documents and setting/user/desktop. All I had to do was move it and two problems were solved. I was able to attach items to emails in Firefox AND my Image Expert Dell Premium Edition which had been crashingn the moment I clicked "save as" when editing or renaming photos began to function properly. I had no clue that they were related. I can't include the link here since I am not on the computer that had the problem.

I think the file was moved by Windows when I installed SP3. I wonder what other surprises I will discover as I use the just installed update.

I am very suspicious of SP3. My problem has been different, though. My installation, no matter how I make it, does not go to completion. And, XP does not roll back to SP2, but it leaves considerable garbage from SP3. I think that I have SP2 and one third.
But, I would have noticed if there was something funny, because my Desktop is full of folders, and I would expect to be unable to see them had SP3 pulled a fast one. I move files anf folders around, as I need. My Documents has a folder for my correspondence, and My Music. I don't use my Pictures, preferring to leave them on my Desktop, in individual folders.
