Basically, what I did was, I went into the "File Types" window, and somehow, ******* around with the:

Drive, File Folder and Folder filetypes. Initially I only meant to try and change the icons of these filetypes, but it didnt work so I just changed them back to the default.

However, now, none of my drives or folders open, they go directly to the search window when clicked. I now have to right-click and hit "open ".

Now I try and click on the filetype and go "advanced" - however there is no "open" option, and there is no way for me to change these back to default.

Any idea's? This seems to be a lot different than changing a .JPG or .MP3 filetype because they system files.

I could format, but **** there has to be a solution for this.

    Thanks for reading.
    Dan.

Have you tried system restore? This is one of those things that's made to order for it. I'd be surprised if it wouldn't fix it.
