All of a sudden, every time I try to connect to an AIM buddy to do file transers, I get this error message:

The only firewalls I'm behind are Kerio Personal and my Netgear router, but neither of them is set up to block file transfers in AIM. I've doublechecked my settings in AIM and my friends say they're set to be able to do file transfers.

Check your router's setup. I had the same problem last night with file transfers, checked the router's port forwarding and, as I suspected, that was the culprit.

The ports I needed to have forwarded to my computer to do file transfers were still being forwarded to the IP I'd told it to...only the router had reassigned IPs after I'd had to shut it down for a day when some storms came through.

Well I did a file transfer with another AIM buddy last night, and it worked. So maybe the problems are on their end.
