    I have an old 486/66 running Win95 and will soon upgrade to a PII and Win/98 (obviously I'm on a limited budget!) and wish to transfer about 50Mb of data to the new system with a null-modem cable and DCC.

    After installing DCC and DUN on the old system I was advised to name the workstation and select a user name by clicking on "Identification ".

    Nowhere could I find a button with "Identification ". When I tried to close the install box the workstation name/user name dialog box popped up again. I finally used Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up the end process box.

    I thought I could find some help in the network or password control panel but was advised that the System Admin had disabled those control panels.

    When I installed Win95 I did not setup Admin or user accounts so there is no log-on screen that would allow me to sign in as Admin and change those permissions.

    HELP:confused:

    Open Regedit and navigate to this keys;
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Network
    Look at the Values in the right pane, most will begin with NO. A 1 in the Value Data would enable the restriction, Modifying to a 0 or deleting the value would allow to happen.
