I have connected my Desktop to my PC with a Firewire Cable. I have also set up and enabled a 1394 connection in "Network Connections ".

But how do I send a file from one to the other. There is no User Interface to do so (that I know off).

I already have a Wireless Network between the two but that is too slow at 11Mbps.

Need help with sending files through the FIrewire connection.

    Thanks

If you set the 1394 adapters as primary I would think your network would continue to function but use the faster wire rather than the wireless.

If no luck with that, try disabling all adapters other than the 1394s. No harm since you can quickly enable them if needed.

I haven't played with firewire so don't even know exactly how the adapters appear or if they have the usual setup options like a place to put in IP address and subnet mask if you run TCP/IP. If they do and you want to make sure your local network uses firewire but still retain the function of the wireless network, post back and we can give you specifics for making sure you use the fast link between the two PCs.

Possible cabling issue: For com/lpt/ethernet connections you need a cable wired specifically for direct connection between two PCs. I'm not sure about firewire and I wasn't able to easily locate any good cabling information. It may be that the usual cable will do fine.
