Can somebody please help? I would like to copy my music files from my old computer (XP Pro) to my new laptop (Windows 7). I know I could buy an Easy File Transfer cable but I wonder if I can transfer using an ethernet cable or a cable with usb connections at either end?
    Thanks

The easiest method I know of is to use the internet. This site allows you to upload all your files across the internet to another computer, no size limits and no fees. To keep it simple put all your files into one folder. The transfer rate will obviously be limited by your internet connection.

This also looks like a good guide for home networking and describes more than one option.

It certainly has given me an education in home networking which I new little about before, hence my earlier suggestion. That being said if are only going to do a 'one time' file transfer fileai.com will save having to do any set up.
