    Hi:

I have a workgroup of a half dozen computers, most with XP but one with Vista. On the Vista PC, I can map a network drive, but when I try to copy a file from the mapped drive to the Vista PC C:\ drive, I get the error:

"Z:\ refers to a location that is unavailable... "

When I try to copy the file from the mapped drive to the Vista PC D:\ drive , the file transfer works fine.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? Any suggested fixes?

    Thanks.

Check your permissions. With a share there are two levels of permissions:

Share permissions: define what a user can do over the share.

File permissions: define what a user can do to a particular share.

Make sure the user has both the right share and file permissions. Both should be set via the shared folder properties.
