I just bought a new dell with xp pro on it. I want to use the f.a.s.t. wizard to transfer everything. I have a home network and I am able to use that by cpoying things to the shared files folders but it is tedious. I have tried the FAST wizard three times and it goes completely through the process (asking for password and all) and at the end of the process the XP comp says:
"An error has occured while the wizard was loading your data. The wizard cannot connect to your old computer, Make sure that the old computer is on and that yoru network is working properly "

The 98se says something along the lines of "unable to save data." I didn't write down the exact error.

If both of your machines are desktop, the f.a.s.t way to copy file is taking out the hard drive from one machine and attaching it to another.
