    I'm running XPpro.

In explorer, when I click on a *.doc file I get a message saying it wants me to put my installation CD in because it is looking for this file. When it gets the CD it can't find the file and I've searched my system for it without success. The result is I cannot open MSWord by just clicking on a doc file, I have to open word first then click the file and all is ok.

Can anyone please offer a solution to this.

If I am in the wrong forum I apologise but I can't see anything related to MSOffice.

    Thanks

From the control panel, click on "Folder Options" and then the tab "File types" look for the .DOC extension and see which program is associated with it. If it isn't word, click "change" and point it to the correct program to use. Even If it does say word, still click change, the path may be wrong or something. Failing the above you may have to reinstall the program. Hope this helps
