I am using Outlook Express 5.5. When you get a attachment in a newsgroup there used to be a box that would appear saying "Open attachments Warning" . Well I unclicked the box that say "Always as...." by mistake! Now how do I get this box to reappear now please? Thanks in advance for any help. Lorne

Is there no solution to this error??? Or does one have to reinstall the program? Lorne:confused:

Look in My Computer > View > Options > File types > and scroll to Internet News Message and highlight it. Click EDIT and verify that the box is checked To "Confirm Open After Download ".

That's all that comes to mind outside of dumping OE and reinstalling it.

You could try repairing it by using the tools provided when you use the Add/Remove Program applet. It will present you with the opportunity to repair rather than remove. Worth a shot before dumping it all.

If you elect to dump it, don't forget to back up any important messages you may have.

    Good luck

You have to do what Zephyr said in the first post but you need to look for the file type that you were working with at the time you unchecked the line. If it was a zip file look for something like winzip file. It may be something different if you have a different zip program. Same goes for .jpg, .gif etc. Find that type of file (whatever it was) and check the comfirm after download line that Zephyr spoke of.
