I work in a school where we have a mix of XP Pro and Windows 7 Clients, a Windows 2008 R2 Domain and Roaming profiles.

I have a very strange problem affecting one user on one PC – so far one user.

This person uses a Windows 7 64 Bit workstation and yesterday most of his file and programme associations have suddenly changed to Adobe Reader.

Logging him off and logging on myself my Associations are normal. How do I change his so they are as well? Anyone come across this before?

As a temporary workaround yesterday I renamed his local user account, created shortcuts for him to his work which them opened correctly but on logging on Windows displayed a message saying his desktop could not be loaded but a restart might bring it back. Unfortunately this morning he has logged back on again to find temporary desktop displayed against.

I have run Malwarebytes and it cleaned uip one pretty inoxious item. Sophos AV reports no issues.
