I think this is what you mean.

Rt click on the home icon and select customize. Drag the home icon to the open customize window and drop it. Grab the home icon from the customize window and drag it wherever you want it.

I use the Strata theme and the back and forward are blue if there is a back page to go to and light blue if there is none to go to.

It does appear to be a strange decision to move the home link to the right by default Westside. Normally when you think home you look top left

when you guys/gals tell me how it can be done.......

I have to admit that I've sort of grown attached to it on the right hand side but I'm glad we now know how to move it back if need be.

FWIW, you can right-click anywhere in the menu or navigation toolbars (except the URL and search windows) and select Customize. Also, it's not necessary to drag a button into the Customize Toolbar window before moving it ... after Customize is selected, any button can be dragged directly to the desired position.

    Thanks Jim,

So clicking customize unlocks the toolbar so the icons can be moved around. That sounds more logical than the longer method.

    Hi Bill,

It's been that way in every version of FF I've ever used. I'm surprised that more users aren't aware of the fact. Or, maybe a lot of users don't even bother to customize FF.

As far as I'm concerned, the Home button is useless. My home page is blank, and I never have more than a few tabs open at any given time. I'd much rather work from bookmarks instead of having a bunch of tabs load whenever I open the browser. Different strokes, I suppose ... it's all in what you get used to, and what works best for you.

I like a home page... a portal as it were to the internet. Mine has always been Yahoo news which is customized to my taste. That way the first thing I see when I go online is the weather for my area, the headlines and any e-mail from family and friends. I would see a "blank page" as a bit useless, myself. To me... you have to go somewhere when you go online and if your first click is simply to a blank page "before" you head off to wherever it is you are going, I would see that as a wasted step.

My "home page" is a blank page ... FF opens that way so no clicking is necessary, and there's no wasted step. I agree that you have to go somewhere when you go online, but I never know where I'll want to go first.:)

As I said, it's all in what you get used to, and what works best for you.

That's the spirit. But, in my case, I tend to go to this site, or another newsgroup, as well as one other site. So, I open the home group, with two tabs. But, it would work just the same opening with a blank page, and using a bookmark. I think that I have never exceeded four tabs, and, now only two are opened.
I heard of people having memory usage of 1 GB with Firefox 4. I consider it obscene if it exceeds 120 MB
