First let me say I never had problem with previous Firefox. Using Window 7.

With Firefox 4.0.1 the first page I open goes correctly to the homepage. But then if I double click on the Mozilla Firefox icon to open a second window, it opens a blank page (NOT to the normal home page). On this blank page, I can go to a new page using bookmark or address bar, but the left and right arrow icons are grayed out so I can never go back or forward from page to page. Also, on this blank page I can never manage add ons (no response when I try). Basically the second page opened does not work well at all... also for instance when registering for this site, I couldn't click on the link in the email to confirm, because when I did, it just opened a blank page !

So to summarize, the first page opened is fine. The second, or third or fourth etc page opened just opens a blank page when clicking on firefox icon or a link.

    Any help appreciated...

UPDATE: I have solved the problem by disabling Google toolbar.

Why do you do that? I tried to double click on the Firefox icon in 3.6.17, and it shut it down. I will see if 4.0.1 works differently.
I work with Tabs, but Windows should do, selecting File|Tab or Window.

I would assume Westside that Diesel10 means the desktop icon to start a 2nd instance of FF, though why the Google toolbar would affect that I don't know

I thought he meant the Firefox icon, on the upper left of the open page.
And, indeed, what would the Google toolbar have to do with any such issue is beyond me.
