So far, I'm underwhelmed by this latest version.

For years I've been able to access my Yahoo webmail. In fact, I've never had a browser that wouldn't allow it... that is, until now. Thanks to FF 3 I can no longer access my Yahoo mail. I have to either switch over to IE 7 or Opera 9.5 to do the job. The message is: Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

The browser has stopped trying to retrieve the requested item. The site is redirecting the request in a way that will never complete.

    * Have you disabled or blocked cookies required by this site?
    * NOTE: If accepting the site's cookies does not resolve the problem, it is likely a server configuration issue and not your computer.

The answer to the above is: I have never blocked cookies from Yahoo (and for that matter, from all websites). So, according to Firefox, it's a Yahoo issue. But the problem with that is, IE and Opera have no problems with getting the e-mail so it's not a Yahoo issue with other browsers.

I would also say that Firefox 3 is definitely NOT faster than Opera and than its previous version FF 2.0.0.14. I'm seriously thinking of dumping it and heading back to FF 2, particularly when it upgrades to 2.0.0.15.

    Any others experiencing these issues?

    James ...

No problem here, with either Yahoo mail or Gmail.

I would have to disagree with you on the speed of 3.0 vs 2.0.0.14. Pages with lots of graphics, such as Wunderground (Weather Underground), open all at once in 3.0 ... that didn't happen with 2.0.x. In any event, it's infinitely faster (and so was 2.0.x) than IE.

    James,

Sorry, but I've never used Yahoo Mail; however, I did find this Mozilla KB Article which gives a link, hopefully to help solve your problem:
I was unable to access the link, as there is a log in page...

That did the trick, Ramona. It was the beta Yahoo mail that was the culprit. I had to go into my mail account via IE and change back to the classic mail which then allowed Firefox to access the account. Whew! That is a great load off my mind since most of my stored mail is on their servers. Thanks.:)

    James,
are you using Yahoo Messenger? I never had any problem getting my Yahoo Mail, either on the website, the Yahoo!Mail notifier add-on , or set up with the help of freePOP in my Thunderbird or Seamonkey mail.

    James,

Glad to hear that was your problem, and you're up and running again! :)
