Have had problems with MS Fax not being able to find fax printer. Finally solved that but now when I try to print a fax (or scanned doc) the Photo Printing Wizard takes forever to get to the Picture Selection step. For some reason it is loading a preview of what appears to be every tif file, over 1300.

Anyone had this or know how to clear that so it only loads the doc currently being viewed?

    Thanks,

    Greg

You must have a LOT of pics in that folder.
Since you’re in the Photo Wizard I’ll assume you just double clicked on that image.
That’d get you the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, if associations with file extensions set right.

If from within a program just hitting print n fax as device to print to would kick up "“ Send Fax to Wizard.

When double clicking on an image I’ve noticed the photo wizard comes up "“ you then hit print- n it’ll promptly display EVERY pic in that folder. However the one originally clicked is the only one check marked "“ so just hit next again. Then print with FAX as device to print to. The "“ Send Fax to Wizard "“ should then appear.

MS likes the term WIZARD "“ wonder how many wizards they have working there.

    Thanks for the reply.

Do you know the folder that is being used for photo print wizard? I would like to clear it out so it is reasonable to have the previews generated.

If they do have wizards maybe that's why they keep these things secret.

Way you can find it is just do a Search. (hit start then should have search option).
Search for Pictures, Music or Video.
On next screen click nothing n just click search.

    It’ll find everything.
Just right click on any image "“ then left click on properties "“ n it’ll give you folder in general tab under location.

Use MyComputer to navigate to folder n decide what to do.

Left right clicks "“ almost need GPS system.

Been away from the computer, just had a chance to try.

Still can't find where the faxes are stored but did find that Photo Printing wizard had stored previews of faxes and appearantly everything else it opened. it would load and try to display previews of everything in the folder, over 4800 images which brought the system to the point where rebooting was the only way to recover.

There is a hidden folder Temp in Local Settings that didnt get emptied. Got rid of all image files and now it is working like before. Don't know if there is a way that folder gets mantained but I am going to watch it.

    Thanks for the help.
