faulty xp search companion

    can anyone help to rectify the following problem

    the internal search companion will not work unless i am connected to the net

    if i try using it while not connected i get the following error message

    A FILE REQUIRED TO RUN SEARCH COMPANION CANNOT BE FOUND. YOU MAY NEED TO RUN SETUP


    i don't really want to go to the legths of reinstalling an o/s that has only been running for 16 days

    Can't agree strongly enough about agent ransack. For pure searches, it beats the native tool for speed and features.
