Fatal Exit Code 0x0200

Fatal Exit Code 0x0200 When shuting down screen turns black and displays Fatal exit code 0x200
Also, the screen flashes, and sounds like a smoke detector.
I read a previous tread on windowsbbs, but did not give me information that helped. I believe it may be some program on my system that is doing it , but dont know what one.
Any information>

 

Nothing specific. Your going to have to troubleshoot this as you would a shutdown problem. It could be a software or hardware problem or something that has a beep warning, if this error is acomponied with the alarm as was this past post....

Shutdown and stop autoloading anything running at startup that is not needed. You can do this in one fell swoop or one at time just to see which bugger is the problem child.

 

Thanks for the help. I have been researching this for 12 weeks.
I have even checked into BIOS which gives beep messages.
So far still have the same problem.

 

For starters, follow the previous post thread link to "hijack this" tool and copyNpaste nfo here.

It might also help to know exactly what you've done so far, in an effort to stop or track this down. Other wise your likely to recieve suggestions you have already tried. This will consume time better spent looking for other solutions.

Does this exitcode/flashing/beeping happen when you bootup in safemode and then shutdown?

 

I just discovered that My Safe Mode does not work. I do not know how long this has been the case. I dont know if it is related to this problem or not. It has been quite some time since I have had to use Safe Mode. When I restart and hold down the ctr key, it just boots up normal.

The beeping and fatal exit code 0x0200 only happens sometimes.
Most of the time it just shuts down normal.

The steps I have taken are, I have just installed skybot Search and distroy. I did that 2 days ago. I have ran MW, scandisk etc.

To update..... As far as I can tell the problem is taken care of.
Have not got the Fatal Exit Code 0x0200 in 5 days. After using Skybot and Search and distroy, I think it was spyware that was causing the problem. I still have a problem with computer will not go into Safe Mode. Any suggestions on that one???
