    O/S W98SE
I installed Drive Image, so I can create an image of my c:\drive. When I finished, I rebooted. I started the program. As I was starting to get to the actual doing, I get a "BLUE SCREEN" with the following message.
FATAL EXCEPTION OE has occurred @ 0028:C19F905B. The current application will be terminated. Press the return, or Ctl-Alt-Del to re-boot etc.etc.etc.
    What do I do now???
    *********************************
    2. I am running OE 6.. I have tried to delete this program through Control Panel. Can't find it there to Remove. Can I delete the whole file in Programs without repurcussion? Please, tell me, how in W98SE can I remove this. I wanted to re-install 5.5, but it won't let me because of the ver.6.0. Also, Why would I have a problem with Drive Image? I used it with W2K and W98SE on another computer successfully.

    Thank you

The Fatal Exception OE has nothing to do with Outlook Express. The problem occurred with the installation of Drive Image, as it did not occur before hand? I would say that a incorrect version of a system file was installed.
Was there anymore info in the message, such as a VXD mentioned?

I re-installed the program Drive Image, v 6.0, inserted the correct Serial number. Loaded fine. no mention of incorrect numbers. When I started the program, the same thing happened. BLUE SCREEN with the OE Error.
]I installed this program on another computer, all doing the same thing. All was OK
    How come???

    Thank you

Is this the complete error message?
    Nothing else?
If the message only occurs when trying to start Drive Image, something that you have loaded at startup may be conflicting. It could be an old driver from a program already uninstalled but still exists to load.

    Repair IE6

    http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/442/
    http://www.windows-help.net/WindowsXP/howto-03.html

    To reinstall IE6
    1. Open the Start menu and select Run.
    2. Type %SystemRoot%\Inf in the prompt and press Enter.
    3. Locate and right-click the Msoe50.inf file.
    4. Select Install.
    5. Close the folder window after the copy process is complete.
    6. Run OE.

    OR ,
    http://www.windows-help.net/WindowsXP/howto-03.html
If a repair doesn't do the trick, you can try a reinstall:
    1. Start the Registry Editor
    2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Active Setup \ Installed Components \ {89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}
    3. right-click the IsInstalled value, and then click Modify
    4. Change the value data, from 1 to 0
    5. Close the registry editor
    6. Download and install Internet Explorer 6.

The above will let you reinstall the Internet Explorer 6 browser component. To reinstall Outlook
Express 6, change the IsInstalled value from the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Active Setup \ Installed Components \ {44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}

Note: You need to be logged on as an administrator to be able to change these registry keys.

    That's OK .

Here is what I use .
If you want to try a really good email client & Spam remover , this is very good .

I can look at my mail on the ISP's server , delete ( spam removal ) , reply , click on links & if I want it on my comp ,
click on Move to > Archive .
Use right click for most of the functions .

You can still leave any other email client installed . Just a matter of choosing which one you want as default .
