Fastest Firewall/Security System

Hello everyone,

What in your experience is the fastest performing firewall or system protection system?

I recently did a system rebild and before reinstalling ZoneAlarm the download speed on my 512k DSL was unbelievble. After installing ZA it's still quick but nowhere near what it was before.

Does anyone have any tips for speeding things up or advice on a faster security sytem?

Best thing you can do is let a peice of hardware do your firewall like Linksys.

I use a SonicWALL TELE3 and deploy SonicWALL SOHO3. The cost for a typical home user is probably prohibitive, but hey, you asked.

 

I'd have to side with ssmith10pn on this. I have the BEFSR41 Linksys router, and love it. Though I do run zonealarm as well for added security. Rarely does a probe get through the router though.
