I am trying to help my friend with trying to get rid of this annoying error message that comes up each time she starts the computer. Apparently this dll file is part of a program called mywebsearch (or mywebs ... this too came up after I deleted the websearch). The message says this file (or whatever) failed to load: m3pllugin.dll. I understand this is a tool bar in IE. But I can't find that particular tool bar in IE (or Firefox); nor is it listed in the Programs and Features in the Control Panel (so I couldn't very well uninstall it). It's not part of the start up programs. But it is listed in the computer programs section. I could download the file and add it to the address program files\my websearch\bar\2bin\. But when I restarted the computer I get another message saying missing entry upf. The dll repair software or spyware detection software couldn't find any problems with this.

I would appreciate some help in solving this problem.

This will not clean out all the dross, but it may remove the message:

Go to the Windows Orb (Start), type regedit, press Enter and navigate to registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. In the right pane look for mp3plugin.dll and if it’s there, right-click it and select Delete.

Repeat the above by looking in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Thanks for the reply, Burr. I couldn't find that entry in either of the places you mentioned in the registry.

I reinstalled MyWebsearch on the computer. And that got rid of the error message. Thank you for your help.
