I am getting video failure in Facebook, but not in anything else, it only happens on this computer. A Dell XPS. I can sometimes get the video back by recharging the page, but not always

Did you look in FB's HELP section for info like:

I can't view or play videos.
If you're having trouble viewing videos on your computer, try these troubleshooting tips:
    • Quit and then reopen your browser
    • Update your browser (ex: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari) or try using a different browser
    If you're using Internet Explorer:
    • Install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player
    • Visit Adobe Flash Player Help for assistance with video display

      and video playback

      issues
    • Turn off ActiveX Filtering in your browser settings
If you're still having trouble viewing or playing videos, please let us know.
If you're having trouble viewing videos on your phone, make sure your phone is able to play videos. If your phone doesn't support videos it will show a thumbnail but won't play.

I'm using Microsoft Edge and can't find ActiveX Filtering. thank you for your help, but it doesn't work. Resetting sometimes works, at other times I have to just leave it for a while. Irritating rather than any thing else. More information, I am using Windows 10 on an i7 computer using a 64 bit processor.

Try disabling Flash completely. Microsoft Edge does support HTML 5 video and audio, which is to become the new standard for WWW multimedia viewing. Edge has less support of this than Chrome or Firefox, but enough support for most all sites, including Facebook. If Flash is disabled then HTML 5 will automatically be used.

Another thing I've noticed on Facebook is that sometimes a video will not stream properly and it's due to Facebook itself, not the browser. Thus reloading the page or closing the browser and returning to the page enables the video to play. Facebook is a very high traffic site and though they are capable of handling the traffic, sometimes there are bottlenecks in the internal Facebook network.
