I have both installed but only Nero will run.

I removed EZCDCreator and then re-installed it but it still dont run.
Could it be possible that Nero is (somehow) blocking EZCD????

Nero was already installed when i got this system and several installs of EZCD
Creator have proved that it wont run.......

    Anyone else have this condition?

The only answer I can give you is that is is generally considered unwise to install two CD burning programs as they may conflict. Maybe this is what is happening on your m/c.

It is often suggested that the native burning software in XP should be turned off, although many folk report no problems with it enabled. I have Nero 5.5 installed and no recording tab on the burner properties dialogue box in My Computer so maybe Nero disabled it automatically??

Have you tries uninstalling Nero and then installing EZCDCreator followed by Nero?

    Hi PeteC,

I have a DVD combo (Dual-layer) in the tower and a TDK CD-RW in an
    external case operating as USB.

Unfortunately, i dont have the original CD's for Nero, just that dumb recovery
CD (which would restore the entire system. So i cant test the conditions you
    suggested (yet).

Both the DVD and the CD-RW have the recording tab and the follow-on check
marks to allow drag and drop recording. I assume with the checks in place
the sys would use the winXP recording routine(s).
I've had no problems with Nero so its easier to just drop EZCDCreator. Ah,
well, money down the drain!!! :)

    thanks,
    savagcl

FWIW.....here's some follow up Information on this thread.

I'm currently running v6.0 Nero and Easy Creator(Roxio now) v7.0 on my Win XP PC, with no conflict. The reason for installing both.....simple.. my personal preference and the ease with features that one may have and the other may lack for any particular project I may do.

Sometimes, you can have many different burning programs installed and have no problems . Sometimes when you install competitors (Nero and Roxio) they must be installed in a specific order for them both to work, other times you just plain cannot get both to work. Occaisionally if you install both you loose the ability to burn altogether.

This is why most of us recommend not installing more than one and keeping the suite which came with your burner since it works.

If you already have nero, you should be able to download the upgrade to the latest version for free. It will detect the current one and just upgrade it.
YOu may want to use the belarc advisor (free download at belarc.com) to see if you can find your registration key , just in case it asks.

I got the update for nero - vs 6.6.0.16 now. There were lots of packages for
downloading. I got them all and ran them but not sure they all took.

At any rate, Nero Digital, INCD, and nero OEM shows in the add/remove
    program listing.

So i guess i'll live with that until the next reload, that is.... :)

    Thanks, Guys,
