I run Netscape 6.2 and Eudora 5.1 under Windows 2000. Under previous versions of Netscape, a click on a link in Eudora would open *one* copy of Netscape. Now it always opens two copies. Also, new copies of the browser launch with great frequency whenever I click on links on web pages. It uses up memory at a great rate, and also makes it very hard to use the GoTo facility. Any help will be welcome!

I'm sorry I don't know for sure if NS6.2 handles this in the same way as NS4.76 which I still run... but I would check under edit>preferences>appearance and under "on startup launch "... make sure "navigator" is unchecked.

Check through the preferences and see if you can't find something similar to that... :)

Thanks for the suggestion on editing Netscape preferences to uncheck launching Navigator when Netscape is started. I did uncheck that option, but it made no difference. I still (properly) get only one window (of Navigator) when I launch Netscape by itself, but still get 2 windows if I launch (or use) it by clicking on a email link.

    Hi Justine,

I've done several searches on the Eudora site:

    Eudora Search

None of which yielded your exact problem. You may find an answer by going through the above search. Keep in mind that Netscape 6.2 is a work in progress, and that the Mail & Newsgroup feature is the trouble spot of the browser. You will note on the Netscape 6 NG, that most of the problems are in Messenger.

I'm betting that you have configured Eudora as described in this KB Article:

    Default Web Browser (Windows)

Thanks for your suggestions Ramona. I did check thru your EPwin search results and did some of my own, but got nowhere close to the problem. - Not sure what you meant by my Eudora configuration settings, but I'm not having any problem getting my default browser ( just too many of them :) )

I thought you were an experienced user, but just checking the basics, and aware that you probably had Eudora configured correctly!

Boy, I'm stumped and hoping that maybe someone on the NG will finally get around to answering your post.
