I have a real puzzler for everyone. I have tried to post a jpeg of the issue. Has anyone had this problem? I have a window appearing in the upper left hand corner of my desktop that I would love to get rid of. It scrolls and appears to have something to do with pictures task going by what I can see on the screen. It cannot move it, close it, delete it or expand it. And all my shortcuts are highlighted. HELP!

Hi kiaville. What happens when you right click on the desktop and click on Refresh, does the extra window go away?
If not then try this, right click on the Desktop and click Properties. Now the Display Properties window will open. Click on the Desktop Tab and then click on Customize Desktop. The Desktop Items window will open and now click on the Web Tab. Under where it says Web pages make sure that no webpages are selected and if there is a webpage selected go ahead and remove it.

When done click Ok on both windows to close them.

It's the "common tasks" bar that sometimes appears on the Desktop. I don't know why it does but there is a fix that works 99% of the time.

Go to this Kelly's Korner page, scroll down to line 15 and in the left-hand column, click on "Remove Common Tasks From The Desktop" to download a small .reg file.

Once you have the files saved to your computer's hard drive somewhere, find it, double click it and answer "yes" to the prompt.

See if the unwanted pane disappears. If not, reboot to make sure the registry edit "took hold. "

Thanks alot Evan. The web page setting did the trick. Under the web tab there was a box with a check, nothing beside the box, no explanation, just a box. I unchecked it and it went away. Thanks again. Happy Thanksgiving.
