    I have just installed an Iomega 40 Gig External HD, and the installation went very nicely. The instructions were clear and for the first time since my years of experience with several versions of Windows - up to my present 98 - I experienced true "plug and play ". Yes, as soon as I powered it, my machine saw it and installed drivers, etc, and it worked right off.

    However, my main reason for installing it was as a back up device on which I hope to be able to make a complete copy of my C: drive - something to "fall back on" in case of a HD crash. Something that would allow me - after re-establishing a clean C: drive from the "emergency" floppies - to just copy the complete contents back onto the newly formatted C: drive and put me back to where I was before the crash.

    I have not found a way to make that complete copy - only by copying each and every folder independently, and that is not a very nice thing to look forward to.

    My question, therefore, is how do I go about copying the whole shebang with one set of "clicks "? I could not find such information in the information provided by Iomega - nor on their site.

    Hey Jack;

    I think what you are looking for is an "Imaging program ".

    The best I know of is Powerquest's Drive Image Pro.
    It basically takes a "snapshot" of your existing hardrive and saves it to another. Like your external.
    My quote... " The best computer program ever made "!!!!

    Pulls my butt outta the fire regularly.....
    Restores off of a floppy......if necessary. Often... In my case. ;-)
