I have a external hard drive from Seagate, which has an external power out let and then plugs into the USB port. Yesterday I plugged it in and it does now show up in my computer anymore. The yellow light which shows that it is working normally is a consistent light, but not it pulsates every second. What is wrong with it? I tried it on multiple ports and on different computers and it does not show up on any of them.

thomasakatom - Welcome to the Board :)

The fact that the drive does not show up on any computer and the power light pulsating rather than steady indicates a problem with the drive. Two possibilities ....

Either the integral drive controller has failed or the drive itself has failed. The only way to determine this - and hopefully recover your data is to remove the drive from the enclosure and install it as a slave in your computer and see if it is accessible.

I might see if I could find out what the flashing/pulsing light meant. If you received a disk/CD with the drive it may have a manual for the drive on it.

    This is the support site:
    http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/
There are lots of FAQs for the external drives.
