I have two ext hard drives one a 3.5 the other 2.5, sata neither one shows up on my computers. I tried win 7 and wind 8.1, I plug them in the usb and it says your device is ready to use, but I can't find it. I looked in device mgr. and its there but I can't use it there, where its supposed to be there is only C:
D: AND E: one is the internal hd the other is recovery and the dvdr.
    where can I find this.

Hi bebuzz68. If you click Start< and in the Start search box type Disk Management and hit enter does the external hard drive show up there?

Is the hard drive showing as unallocated or is it using the FAT32, or NTFS file system?
