I have an address book from Netscape 4.79 that has grown over the years and been moved from computer to new computer. It contains many cards and lists. I need to provide one list to a committee member with whom I work. I can figure out how to export the entire address book, but I am unwilling to give that out. I can find the abook file, but, again, it contains the entire address book. How can I copy just one list?

What I did was create a screen capture of the list; however, that is not satisfactory since the recipient will get a bitmap of the names rather than a usable list.

    Any ideas?

    Rusty 2,
the best way to work with address books is to Tools|Export the address book, as a .ldif file. For instance: I have a number of address books into which I move new addresses, and I have been named: Family, Friends, and whatever other category I wish to have, and I store them on my hard drive, as well as external stuff. The largest address book I have is 34 Kb, and all address books can be Imported. All this will; not help you a bit.
As for handing out a list, select an address book, and do File|Print preview or just Print.
The trick is to create a new address book, containing the desired stuff, as you drag and drop, you just make a copy. File|New|Address book.
You will be asked to name it. This address book may contain part of the addresses of your main address book.

    rusty2,

Westside is right on, and once you copy the desired list to the new Address Book, Export it as a .csv file. Then zip the file and send it to your friend as an attachment, in e-mail.

To copy the files from the "List" to a new Address Book:
    Open the List
    Highlight the first entry
    Press Ctrl+A
Left click and drag to the new Address Book

Export the new Address Book as a .csv file.

I created a new address book using File/ New Address book. But I don't know how to open it to drag entries to it, and Windows Explorer doesn't find it.

    rusty2,

You do that within the Address Book, not in Windows Explorer.

Open Netscape and then the Netscape Address Book

    Open the List
    Highlight the first entry
    Press Ctrl+A
Left click and drag to the new Address Book

Export the new Address Book as a .csv file.
