    1. Open the address book.
    2. Tools Menu > Export.
    3. Export Dialog > use menu at bottom right to select Save As type.

    Report your results here.

  3. to hide this advert.

    Tony T,

    Thunderbird 50 running W7 Pro.

    I followed your suggestions below:

    Exporting Email addresses:
    1. Open the address book.
    2. Tools Menu > Export.
    3. Export Dialog > use menu at bottom right to select Save As type.

    This is what I got
    ALL ADDRESS BOOKS:
    - Personal address Book: 72 addr
    - CSV for TB Contacts Dsktp-Laptop 4-6-16: 2 addr
    - Collected Addresses: 31 addr <--THIS WAS THE ONLY ADDRESS BOOK THAT WAS EXPORTED

Of 75 email contacts, TB only exported 31. I selected-highlighted contacts under ALL ADDRESS BOOKS.

    What did I do wrong?

    Regards,

    klxdrt

If you select ALL ADDRESS BOOKS you should get a Save As dialog for each address book. Give a unique name to each and save them.

    Tony T,

Thanks for your response. Just followed your suggestion to no avail---> DID NOT get a Save As dialog for each address book.
Been using TB for 1.5 yr, I'm used to it's catiwampis process & operations. I'll see if TB will allow me to export each address book separately.

Why 3 address books in the first place? If you're skilled in info mgmt, it's very easy to group your email addr to match your business process. I've been doing it for over 25 yrs with great success, and I'm not a techie.

    PS: I'll post results shortly.

    Warm Regards,

    klxdrt

Tony T: I was able to export all three add bks individually
I'll post pix later as this site does not allow screen shots to be easily uploaded from your HD.
I'm sure there is a service out there allows that.

    Warm Regards,

You can open the separate address books in a spreadsheet program such as Calc or Excel and copy+paste to make one single address book.
