    Good evening Lady's and Gentlemen,

I have a problem and I am not sure where to go or what to do.

Running w2k, athlon xp, 256 ddr, etc. this machine has been running very good now for over a year, until now.

When I go to open IE the computer acts as if it refreshes itself, but at a very slow rate, and then the desktop reappears. Also, I noticed the same thing happens when I try to open My Computer. I can' t access any of my drives this way. I have to go to run, and click on the browes button to access any of them. Another thing I came upon is when I go to open the control panel through the start button, it does the same thing also, acts as though it is refreshing itself, but at the very slow rate. The only way I am able to access anything in the control panel, is to put a check mark in the "expand control panel" in the taskbar properties. One more thing, last but not least. If I try to run search for file and folders, as soon as I hit the search now button, it does the samething.

Hope I didn't confuse anyone. Tried to tell it like it happens. Now I have done every possible maintenance routine I can think of. scan disk, defrag, ran anti virus (it's up to date), ran reg cleaner to see if anything was out of the ordinary. reinstalled IE and still didn't take care of the problem. Even tried repairing w2k. No matter what I do, can't seem to fix. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hope I gave enough info, and if it matters, I am always signed on as administrator.

    Thanks & patiently awaiting

    Jamier out

Try downloading, immediately updating, then running ad-aware and spybot (links in my signature). Fix all that ad-aware finds. Fix all that spybot flags in red and any others that strike your fancy.

    Post back.
