Every time i open a certain folder in my computer the service "explorer" in the task manager gets almost 100% cpu usage, this turns the computer really really slow!
I can't seem to fix the problem, i don't think it's virus, i have the norton anti-virus 2002 updated and always running and it doesn't find any virus in my computer!
What i've been doing till now is terminate the explorer service and start it again, but this only fixs the problem momentearly, when i open the same folder it gets slow again.

    Any Ideas???

Oh yeah, here's an odd-ball idea for ya, why not try switching to an OS that dosn't have so many needless problems. XP *****, it really does.

    BDBD:rolleyes:  :( ;)

You'll maybe find this (which I tracked down elsewhere) more helpful than BuckDeath's nonsense:

Just found out that changing the name of the directory thats giving this problem along with changing to windows classic folders solves the problem mutch better.
Before i had only changed to windows classic folders, and it solve the problem but only a little, it's was still slow only not so slow. changing the directory name also helps!

hope this helps to someone with the same problem...

Was this a directory full of graphics. If so explorer attempts to read each file to get specifications if you are using the new interface so that thumbnails are shown and details about the graphic, whether it is just a picture or animation. If some unsupported formats are in the directory it will sometime hang until timeout before it goes to next item.

U r right lfotto, but that's another type of problem, like i said after i changed the directorys name it fixed the problem, if what u r saying was the case, then the problem wont be fixed by just changing the directorys name.
