I hope someone can help me. I searched the forum and found one that recommended booting with a disk and reinstalling Windows, but I don't have the disk to reinstall Windows. I bought a used computer and it has worked for almost a month and all of a sudden when it comes up we get a window that "Explorer caused an invalide page fault inmodule Explorer.exe at 015f:00401f31" and then lists all the registers. This computer is not hooked to the Internet. It won't boot in safe mode either. I was able to run scandisk in DOS mode and everything is fine there, but we keep getting this same error message. All I use this for is children's educational games. Can I reformat the drive and install a different version of Windows?

It depends on that computer meeting particular Windows version requirements.

Ok... what are the requirements? I am unable to get any screen to come up to find any of the system properties. Can I find it in DOS? Or what should I do to solve the immediate problem?

Forgive me Vickie but it's 3 oclock in morning here and I have to get up early so I must go to bed now. This problem will take a little more info, time and mental capacity then I have right now. I have a few ideas but can not expand on them now.

I will tack a few ms links that reference your problem. I hope you have enough experience to figure out how or what to do safely. If not wait and I (later today as time permits) or another will have further explanations and steps.

I will probably need to know what version of IE you were running and possibly if you have an msOffice 2000 cd. Also what did you do prior to this problem that may have caused your current problem? Oh, do you have a monster fusion video board (either we can rule that out now or focus on it as root cause based on your answer). This will make more sence as you follow the links:
