I have a problem that’s causing me fits. Its intermittent and evolves around 3 different scenarios.
    Scenario #1:
When I boot the system, everything works fine. My desktop is available to launch any and all applications.
This happens about 3% of the times I boot up. The other 97% fall into scenario 2 or 3.
    Scenario #2:
When I boot the system I come up with an error window that says EXPLORER: This program has performed an illegal operation and will shut down. Explorer caused an invalid page fault in Module S32LUCP1.CPL at xxxx:xxxxxxxx(x) varies each error window.
Registers: These register values change in the error window. When I click on the close box the system locks up, the only thing that works is the mouse pointer movement, but when I click on any icon or application nothing happens. I have to manually turn the system off
    and restart.
Scenario #3: This is almost the same as scenario #2 except when I click on the close box
it doesn't lock up but another EXPLORER error window comes up with the same module
S32LUCP1.CPL. When I click on the close box the system works in a normal manner.
If anyone can clue me in as to what might be the problem I would be gratefully appreciative.
    R. Gale Harter

I found two refs to this file. One for a monitor driver, and the other was for Norton Live update. Went to Symantec's site, searched and got back 21hits. But couldn't link to them. Maybe just the site. Try looking there if you are running Norton or recently uninstalled it..

aleekat and Walshsjim: Thanks for your input. This is what I did to solve my problem, at least the last 15 times I started my system with no error. Both of you mentioned the word monitor so I went out to a Monitor driver site and downloaded a new driver for my monitor model and since then I have had no problem. How simple you two made my problem disappear. Thanks again.
