Ok I really need someone's help on this. I can usually do most things on my comp myself but this one has me stumped on how to remove it.

I did a virus scan on my computer with Nortons Anti-Virus 2005 and it come up with this.

    Source: C:\WINDOWS\system32\explorer.dll
Description: The file C:\WINDOWS\system32\explorer.dll is a Hack tool threat.
Click for more information about this threat : Hacktool.SCKeyLogger

I clicked the delete option and the delete failed. I also try to manually remove it but I could not find the file in the windows/system32 folder. I scanned all the folders individually nothing was found and I scanned all the files in system32 and nothing was found. But when I scan the System32 folder as a whole it still comes up with the same problem. So I made sure my folder options were showing all hidden items and rebooted into safe mode. The explorer.dll was not in the folder.

My computer is acting up and I cannot re-install my e-mail program incredimail...I don't know if it's due to this issue or not.

I done ad-awareSE and spybot all issues were cleaned up. But I still have the same problem with the hacktool I cannot find.

So I read on the boards and did a hijack this. The log follows. Also I would like to add. i am not sure if it this doing it but my comp is taking ages to close down and this is not a usual thing

Please if anyone can give me some help I would really appreciate it.

In my post above I stated I did run ad-awareSE and Spybot. I also run a full system scan using Nortons AV 2005. I have not done an online scan, I am in the process of doing that now.

I searched symantec for HacktoolSCkeylogger and i followed the removal instructions for that but I still have the same issue.
When the online scan is done I will follow the instructions on removal with the link you provided.

Download Pocket Killbox from here: http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip

Scan again with HijackThis, place a check next to the following, close all other windows and click fix.

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: explorer - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\explorer.dll

Unzip the Killbox files files to a folder, then open and double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. In the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste the following:

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\explorer.dll

Check the box to delete on reboot and click the red X to the right. Click Yes, then Yes again to reboot.

Scan the system32 folder again with NAV to verify it's gone. Post a new HJT log.

That's great! :) You should probably clear your system restore points. Right click My Computer and choose properties. On system restore tab, check the box to turn off. OK out. Reboot and uncheck the box to turn it back on.
